Oh blimey!!!
OK either head for a Clarkes shop...some have the gauges and some don't (they definitely do for kids)
If you are near to Strete in Somerset go to the Cosy Feet store.
Go online and Google Hotter or Cosy Feet or DB Shoes and most of these catalogues have a pull out tape measure/chart which you can gauge your foot size from. Otherwise try a local Podiatrist (like me) who may well have a Brannock foot gauge (like those that you used to see in shoe shops) that measure length and also width. Take a note of the instructions on any catalogue sizing (they are normally very good) especially if you have oedema (swelling in legs and feet) or if your toes are retracted (pulled up) or your hallux (big toe) sticks up higher than the minor toes. In these cases it pays to see what the shoe people say as it normally makes sense to buy a slightly bigger shoe to save your digits or your foot/ankle rubbing against the interior of the shoe.
I'm going on a shoe fitting course with Hotter next months so should be able to help more then if necessary!

The Cosy Feet website is www.cosyfeet.co.uk and there is a Clarkes Shoe Shop in Eltham High Street that measures kids feet.
