Hi from Nick
Hello ~ I'm Nick and in my 50's, Type 2 since mid 2002 and having done the diet 'thing' now been on Metformin for getting on for 2 yrs.
I am a HPC (Health Professions Council) registered Podiatrist working in my own Private Practice and as you may guess, have a special interest in Diabetes and especially trying to mop up all those patients that aren't 'allowed' regular annual or bi annual assessments because they are 'low risk' !! (I may well start a new thread just on that subject)
Saw this site mentioned in Diabetes UK mag today ~ congratulations to Imogen for doing so.
If I can be of any help answering questions regarding your feet then I'll gladly try but obviously I can't see or feel them on the forum so may well refer you back to a Podiatrist for checking (or GP).

Re: Hi from Nick
Great to see you Nick - and thanks for the offer of help - I would gladly have you around to offer your knowledge about feet for members of the forum.
Re: Hi from Nick
Hi Nick,
advise on line, great, thanks for offer.
Actually i am glad I have another adult in the house who also just happens to be an advanced first aider. I get him to check the bottoms of my feet for me.
Yesterday I thought I'd stepped on something just before he came in from work, so I got him to check. It turned out just tp be a crack in the skin, so we cleaned it up ( I keep in things like anitseptic wipes for minor wounds), and we spen all evening putting cream on my foot.
Luckily he has a good dental plan and a good dentist as well as fast reactions, as my feet (for as long as I can remember) have always been very ticklish...
