Diabetes Clinic
Does anyone know the NHS policy on discharging you from your diabetes clinic?
Mine is saying that they should discharge me cos I rescheduled two appointments (not in a row) with my specialist. One was done by him and the other I cancelled because they decided that I should see a different consultant (who deals with pregnant women not pump users).
I'm arguing that moving an appointment to a time I can attend is not grounds to discharge someone. (Even though this is not my fault) Also that they should amend their records cos they're wrong!
Anyway, how can they discharge me? What do I not have diabetes anymore? Not like I'm refusing to go to my appointments.

Re: Diabetes Clinic
I don't know if there is a strict NHS policy or if it's down to each individual clinic. Doug was discharged from the clinic down here because they insisted on making appointments for him for when he was working away. We gave the clinic a list of all the dates that he would be here, but they continued to ignore us.
He now just sees the Diabetes Nurse at the surgery - they are much more flexible.

Thanks Claire,
I put in a complaint anyway, it still took 4 months for them to bother to give me an appointment. I called up the appointment helpline and made them change the 'rescheduled' appoinments because they booked me in with the wrong Dr. Seems like ony this one woman has a problem.
Well shes got a bigger one coming her way now I've sent my letter
