Re: Retinopathy results
I'd love to change GPs, but in order to do so in this area it eould mean moving house. All the local GPs are full or a bus ride away.
If I need information I go to the practice nurse, the receptionist, or my local pharmacist. My place of work also holds health care and health awareness events, which do not replace the doctor but do give me enough ammunition to get the things I need from him.
My doctor is over stretched, and there is a campaign going round this area to gey more GPs. I fill in all the surveys that come around and put more GPs would improve the service.

Re: Retinopathy results
Hello to you all, Its been ages since I've been here.
I go tomorrow for the photographs. I've not been for a few years as the doctor I see at the eye clinic said not to bother as I don't want to spend too much time at hospital appointments !!!!
When I told my gp that my sight is getting worse she said go, so I'm going.
Here's what I want to know, and who better to ask than you lot. If the results are not good how is it treated???
Many thanks.

Depends what is going on but I know they use laser ~ and I know someone, in fact two someones who have had laser treatment after almost going blind and they are back driving again. Fingers x'd for you though for good results. To hell with anyone who say's don't bother to have checks ~ go and have them. It's your body, your sight and your right!

Re: Retinopathy results
Thank-you Nick, that is so reassuring !!!!
I've have the photos done and it was O.K. When he said 'see you next year' I almost wept with relief. Apparently I have a cateract forming but it is not yet ready to be operated on. As I only have sight in one eye they need to be very careful.
So it seems I must put up with the slight mist. I'll go to get new glasses soon, maybe that will help a bit.
#Thank-you again for replying.

Re: Retinopathy results
Hi Buffy,
My pleasure in replying
. It's been too quiet on here for tooooooo long. About time we woke from our winter diabetic slumbers (not to mention too many Easter Chocolate Bunnies) and got back to talking again.....hence all my messages of new research trying to galvanise people
into posting again.
Fingers x'd for you and your new glasses etc that the mist may soon lift for you.
