New medication
Was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about 15 years ago. Have been on oral medication until 3 weeks ago when my doctor put me on Lantus pen. Developed hives all over so today he changed it to Levemir and I am hoping that this solves the problem. My readings have been very high and I have watched my diet. Today it was 500 before I went to see my doctor but by the time I got to his office it was down to 368 which is still very high. Was on pretezone a week ago for bronchitis and that raised my sugar drastically. Hopefully Levemir is the answer.

Re: New medication
Hi and welcome to the forum.
Levemir is known here in the UK and I have just looked up the Lantus one as I didn't recognise it.
Not a nice reaction to it at all.
Unfortunately despite us changing our reading values no one thought that it might be a good idea if the entire world changed to the same reading values so that everyone would understand them! Therefore, again unfortunately I don't know what your values are
Fingers crossed that your bloods settle down a bit as you get used to the insulin.
Let us know how you get on
Best wishes
Nick
