as well as everybody in this forum I came here for support and people who can understand.
I've had type 1 diabetes for almost 5 years now, on an insulin pump now, but I've never used one of these websites before. I'm 15 and I've been finding it kinda difficult lately and I'm not so good at controlling it. My nurse said I should start using something like this because I haven't really accepted it or something lol. I've never really spoken to anyone my age with diabetes before so it would be helpfull.

Don't really know what else to say but any tips on anything would be great
Thankyou xx

Hi welcome to our little world. Good to see you on here and thanks for joining.

I am not sure that we have anyone on here of your age although I wish we did because we could get a much better view from a teenager.

How do you get on with the pump? Does it help you lead a more 'normal' life whatever that may be?

Because I don't take insulin (and long may it last) I have no conception what it must be like to be either on it or to be harnessed up to a pump.

Don't feel too bad about not being 'so good' at the moment Smile

You have a life and want to and should lead it as best as you can..... and still have some fun!

I know lots of teenagers go through the same process as you when they are diabetic so you aren't alone.... just try and put things into perspective and remember that you have got a long while (in years) to go and that you need the best possible start to enable a good life ahead of you.

I am sure that some of the ladies on here will post a message within the next day or two and certainly some on here are Type 1 so hopefully they may be able to chat away as well.

If there is anything we can do to help you or you want to know sing out and we will try our best for you. There aren't too mnay of us active on here but those that are here are good people Smile If you don't wnat to post on here and send any of us a personal message feel free to do so too.

Take care

Nick

thankx for a warm welcome:)
Pump really made my life much easier. As soon as you get used to it you understand how cool it is that you don't have to prick yourself every day. the hardest thing is to get used to sleep with it but soon I figured out that I can just put it under my pillow and sleep sweet all night long.

Great. I have a friend who had one for some time and thought it was excellent. Are they waterproof so if you want to swim etc? Or do you just detach until you are done?
