hello rainy saturday
decided on tuesday that we would have a bbq as a means to get the kids to try some new foods (pork and apple burgers bought by the in-laws for us). So we invited several friends round, bought lots of food, an dthen sat back peeved when it decided to rain lots this morning. Thankfully the rain toddled off long enough for stubborn men to light the bbq and get some food cooking, though we forgot the special brgers, at least one of the kids (hannah) decided to try the chilli sausages, which were very spicy.
A good day was had by all, despite the rain. and lots of alcohol was consumed, though i really dont know who by???

Hahaha Well said Shona,
Yes like you it was pouring with rain down here with a couple of heavy thunderstorms too. Cooked most of the day for guests in the evening and somehow managed to find myself outside a summer fruit brulee complete with caramelised topping!
Ahh well I guess the red wine helped to knock down the sugar content???
Happily it's brilliant sunshine today and a wind that would knock you off your feet.
Happy Days

Re: hello rainy saturday
It rained until about 9am here yesterday - then it was really hot and sunny........Until the village fete started at 2pm
Luckily, we weren't planning to go anyway.
It's glorious here today

Re: hello rainy saturday
The only problem with being this far west of the county is that we're only two minutes from Cornwall - Beautiful county.......strange people
Re: hello rainy saturday
Very true indeed. That's why you have to pay £1 for the priviledge to get back into Devon at the Tamar Bridge
Re: hello rainy saturday
Ahhhh, normal people do - we're "lucky" enough to live near one of the smaller bridges, doesn't cost us a penny
Re: hello rainy saturday
yes I thought you might from where you said you lived.
Ahh well for mortals like us it's worth paying to get back to sanity

Re: hello rainy saturday
Dont know why but the Tamar scares me I have had to shut my eyes the few times we have crossed. Thankfully Dave's the driver, not me lol
Re: hello rainy saturday
There are 23 road bridges over the Tamar so it's easy to avoid the big one I think we've been over most of them
