Hello,
It would be good to chat to other diabetics. I am a type 1 insulin user. I have been diabetic for 40 years.
Now I've joined I don't know what to ask.

Hello Buffy
How's the vampires? Welcome to the forum - you don't have to ask anything - you can just take a look around and come along whenever you feel a question brewing.

Thank-you for the welcome !!!
I have other problems of course, but I do find that other doctors dealing with those always put my diabetis on the back burner.
When I read the leaflets inside the boxes of tablets I have to take, it always says......."do not take if" Well, I have most of those "ifs" but what can you do?

What do you do? ... ask your doctor! Say "should I be taking these because..."
You are ultimately responsible for your health - so you need to be the most informed person about YOU.

Hi Buffy,
Depends very much on the 'ifs' really. Remember that many of the side effects reported have often been slight and are normally listed under 'often' instead of 'rarely'.
If you want to send me a private email on what you are on and side effects or whatever then I'll check them all in my BNF (British National Formulary) or you can check it yourself on the online version.
If I think you may be contra indicated I will tell you
Best wishes
Nick
